Shipping can be done in bulk or in smaller bags and totes. Totes are often filled with product and loaded into containers to be shipped by rail, or they are filled and loaded into semi vans or trucks. By using a portable loading dock, shipping by rail is done by using a specially equipped van that is parked alongside the tracks and the boxcar to be loaded is parked besides this.
A forklift is used to load containers with totes of product. When shipping by truck, transporters can back up to the warehouse for simple loading.
